Meet Suzanne: Grace in Motion

At Crisanthemum Studios, creativity doesn’t always show up as clay on the wheel or glaze on a brush. Sometimes, it shows up as care. As presence. As someone who quietly makes space for others to create.

This month, we’re honored to introduce Suzanne—a retiree, a go-getter, and one of the people who helps keep the studio feeling exactly the way she describes it in one word: welcoming.

A New Chapter, Softly Opened

Suzanne came to Crisanthemum Studios in a season of rediscovery. After retiring, she found herself opening a new chapter—one that invited creativity, softness, and curiosity back into her life. This studio has become a place where she’s learning to embrace those parts of herself, gently and honestly. Her Word of the Year is grace, and it fits her beautifully.

Suzanne defines grace as intentionally giving herself permission to accept the things she can do, the things she can no longer do, and the things she may not be able to do as well—or change. It’s a powerful way of moving through the world, and it’s something she embodies every day.

The Heart Behind the Clean

Suzanne’s official job title is the cleaner, but what she really does goes far beyond that. She is the one who keeps the studio shipshape and ready—clean, sanitized, dust-free, and welcoming for every single person who walks through the door. Before the first glaze is poured or the first brush is picked up, Suzanne has already been there, making sure the space is cared for.

Her work is foundational. It allows creativity to happen safely and comfortably. It creates calm. It communicates care—often without a word spoken.

Energy, Warmth, and a Smile That Says “You Belong Here”

Suzanne brings a fantastic, warm smile into the studio every time she arrives. She’s a bundle of energy, a true go-getter, and someone who jumps in wholeheartedly. Over the past year, she has embraced Crisanthemum Studios not just as a place to work, but as a community to be part of—and in doing so, she’s helped us grow.

There’s something deeply reassuring about her presence. She notices what needs to be done and does it with pride and joy. She understands that small details matter—and that welcoming people starts long before they sit down at a table.

Why Suzanne Matters

Suzanne reminds us that creativity isn’t always loud. It doesn’t always announce itself. Sometimes it shows up as grace. As service. As showing up with care, day after day.

She helps make Crisanthemum Studios a place where people feel comfortable, safe, and welcome—and that matters more than most people realize.

We’re deeply grateful for Suzanne, for her energy, her heart, and the grace she brings into this space.

If you’ve ever walked into the studio and felt immediately at ease, chances are Suzanne had something to do with it.
