ARTISANS COLLECTIVE
Simply Perfect. Beautiful handmade mugs that I will be proud to sell in my online art gallery that features handmade artwork. The artist responded to my personalized request promptly, was very accommodating, and shipped the mugs quickly. They were extremely well packaged and all arrived safely.
THE HUFF FAMILY
When we suddenly lost an immediate member of our family, the grief was overwhelming. I commissioned
Cris to create a memorial mug featuring the motto we’ve held onto ever since. When we opened them
together on Christmas, we all cried.
The mugs are a beautiful work of art, thoughtfully commemorating his love of the outdoors and the deep
closeness we share as a family. Thank you, Cris, for creating something so meaningful. This is a keepsake we will cherish forever.
I’m not exactly sure what first brought me to the studio—I may have seen it on Facebook or just passed by—but I’m so glad I did. Since then, I’ve participated in several workshops, including a Barn Quilt class where I learned how to map out my pattern, draw it on wood, and paint it in my own colors. It now hangs on my barn, and I absolutely love it.
What keeps me coming back is how satisfying and relaxing the entire experience is. Whether I’m glazing pottery, painting, or taking one of the many classes offered, it’s truly a stress reliever. The instructors are wonderful at guiding you through each step, and the staff is so friendly—they really start to feel like family. It’s also such a welcoming environment where you meet people who quickly become friends.
I also love that you can enjoy a glass of beer or wine while creating, which makes it even more enjoyable. And the best part is that you leave with something you made yourself—something you can use, display, or gift. That makes every class feel meaningful.
As someone who is retired and looking for something fun and fulfilling to do, this studio has been perfect for me—and it’s only five minutes away, which makes it even better. I’ve tried everything from acrylic painting and pottery glazing to knitting, crocheting, and even planting a “lasagna planter.” There is always something new and interesting to learn.
I would absolutely recommend this studio to anyone. The variety of classes is incredible, the experience is rewarding, and the sense of community is something truly special. Just be sure to check the website and sign up early—classes fill up fast!

I first discovered the studio while visiting Mount Airy and happened to come across a Glaze & Sip event. I had such a great time that evening that I later made the trip to the studio itself to experience more.
I participated in the Glaze Your Own pottery, and honestly, what I enjoyed most was the surprise of it all. While I was painting my mug, I kept thinking there was no way it would turn out anything like the finished example—but I was completely wrong. The final piece was beautiful. On top of that, the atmosphere was so much fun—we spent the evening laughing and getting to know others at our table at the vineyard.
Now, that mug has become part of my daily routine. I use it often for my morning coffee, and it always reminds me of that experience. During my visit to the studio, I also picked up a few additional pieces that I’ve really enjoyed using at home.
I would absolutely recommend this experience to others. The self-glazing process is truly amazing, and it’s such a fun, relaxed way to spend time creating something you’ll actually use and love.
