Hi friends,

This season, the clay has been teaching me a new lesson: how to let go of “perfect” and fall in love with “pretty damn good.”

If you know me, you know I take my craft seriously. I believe in creating pieces that feel good in your hands and fit beautifully into your life. But sometimes—especially in the middle of busy seasons—it’s easy to slip into chasing perfection. Every curve, every glaze, every tiny detail can feel like it has to be flawless.

The truth? Perfection doesn’t live here. And honestly, I don’t think it ever really did.

Pottery is alive. Clay remembers every touch, every adjustment, every intention. It breathes with you. And sometimes, when I’m standing at the wheel with the summer light pouring in, I realize that the magic isn’t in the perfect pieces. It’s in the ones that carry a little bit of the journey—the ones that aren’t flawless, but are full of heart.

That’s what Crisanthemum Studios is all about. It’s about creating work (and a life) that’s handmade, heartfelt, and human. Not perfect. Just pretty damn good. And that’s more than enough.

If you’re feeling a little stretched, a little messy, or a little imperfect this summer—welcome. You’re in good company.

With muddy hands and a full heart,

Cris
