Back to Busy, Back to Center

Hi friends,
Clay has seasons, just like we do.
Some days are for shaping. Others are for resting.
Lately, I’ve been learning to honor both.
August always feels like a shift—the energy ramps up, the routines return, and everything starts to move a little faster. For a long time, I fought it. I’d push myself to stay on top of everything, to keep up with the world around me. But the more time I spend with clay, the more I understand: creation has its own pace.
Not every season is about producing. Some are about listening. Centering. Waiting for inspiration to return like rain after heat.
This month, I’m giving myself permission to move a little slower. To notice the details. To find comfort in rhythm and trust the process—even when the shape isn’t clear yet. The wheel reminds me that I don’t have to rush to find meaning. I just have to show up, hands open.
So if you’re feeling the back-to-busy pull this August, I hope you can also find your center. Let this be your reminder: you’re allowed to shift. You’re allowed to rest. You’re allowed to change with the season.
With muddy hands and a warm heart,
Cris
