Get to know Cindy, a warm and welcoming member of the Crisanthemum Studios team in Pilot Mountain, NC. Read our latest team spotlight and discover what creativity means to her.

At Crisanthemum Studios, creativity is not only about pottery, painting, and handmade experiences. It is also about the people who help make the studio feel welcoming from the moment someone walks through the door. Cindy is one of those people.
She helps wherever needed, especially with front-of-house support and shipping, and she brings an outgoing, helpful, caring presence to the studio. In a creative space, that matters. Sometimes the first few moments in a new place determine whether someone feels relaxed enough to stay, explore, and create. Cindy understands that, and it shows in the way she connects with people.
Her path to Crisanthemum Studios began in a personal way. Cindy met Cris at Budbreak and took classes at the studio before becoming part of the team. That means she understands the studio from both sides: as someone who first arrived to learn and create, and as someone who now helps others feel comfortable doing the same.
When asked what she loves most about being at the studio, Cindy shared that she loves the team and loves seeing people’s faces light up when they see what they’ve created. That answer says so much about what makes Crisanthemum Studios special in Pilot Mountain. This is not just a place to buy handmade pottery or sign up for an art class. It is a place where people are encouraged, welcomed, and reminded that creativity belongs to them too.
Cindy’s own view of creativity is one of the reasons she fits so beautifully into the life of the studio. To her, creativity means the willingness to try something you imagine, maybe something new, or maybe something you keep practicing until you master something you enjoy. That perspective leaves room for beginners. It makes space for curiosity. It also reflects something we value deeply at Crisanthemum Studios: the process matters just as much as the finished piece.
She is also still enjoying learning herself, which makes her especially relatable. Creativity is not something reserved for experts. It is something that grows over time, through openness, practice, and a willingness to begin.
Outside the studio, Cindy enjoys visiting local wineries, traveling anywhere new, hiking, reading, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She loves fall for its colors, scents, and evenings around a fire with friends. These small details paint a picture of someone who appreciates beauty, connection, and simple meaningful moments. The same things so many people are looking for when they visit a creative destination in downtown Pilot Mountain.
And one of the sweetest details she shared might be our favorite: her favorite word in the world is “Babi,” the name her grandsons Theo and Fadi call her. It is a tender detail, and it says a great deal about the heart she brings into the studio.
At Crisanthemum Studios, we believe the team behind the scenes helps shape the experience just as much as the classes, the pottery, and the events on the calendar. Cindy is part of what makes this creative studio in Pilot Mountain feel warm, approachable, and full of heart.
If you stop by soon, there is a good chance Cindy will be one of the friendly faces helping you feel right at home.
